More than $12 trillion is spent every year on health and wellness—or roughly one-sixth of the world’s economic activity—and our bid proposes to host a Specialized Expo that focuses on addressing one of the most pressing topics of our times. No other human endeavor comes close to the size of the global wellness economy. As the “Silicon Valley of Healthcare,” Minnesota is uniquely positioned to host such an important global gathering.

As the official bid of the United States of America, Minnesota is seeking to bring the World’s Fair to American soil for the first time in 43 years. Minnesota has a long, rich tradition that has produced one of the most respected public health systems and nurtured global corporate health leaders. With a projected 13.3 million attendees over 93 days in the summer of 2027, The Expo will afford the U.S. and Minnesota a unique PR and positioning opportunity and will support future tourism and business investment.

Expo 2027 Will Directly Benefit National and Local Businesses:

Nearly 90% of Expo attendance will come from non-resident visitors to the MSP metro area. International visitors will travel to MSP and other U.S. destinations during an average trip of 12 days, spending a total of nearly 3million days in the United States.
