A Sign of the Times
More than $12 trillion is spent every year on health and wellness—or roughly one-sixth of the world’s economic activity—and our bid proposes to host a Specialized Expo that focuses on addressing one of the most pressing topics of our times. No other human endeavor comes close to the size of the global wellness economy. As the “Silicon Valley of Healthcare,” Minnesota is uniquely positioned to host such an important global gathering.
Minnesota as America’s Bid
As the official bid of the United States of America, Minnesota is seeking to bring the World’s Fair to American soil for the first time in 43 years. Minnesota has a long, rich tradition that has produced one of the most respected public health systems and nurtured global corporate health leaders. Our holistic approach to health and wellness combined with our history of hosting major events makes us well positioned to host the world in the summer of 2027.
Big Event has a Big Impact
A World Expo creates an immense amount of economic activity for the host community. Over three months, millions of visitors will visit the Expo, stay in hotels and visit regional attractions. Data is from an economic assessment of the Minnesota 2027 Expo by Rockport Analytics.
